Q:
Why would a home need an inspection?
A:
Generally
a home purchaser asks for an inspection in order to ensure that
the home they want to buy is in adequate physical condition and
so that they can make a well-informed decision before making the
investment in that real estate. An inspection will provide useful
information about current or future repairs and offers helpful maintenance
suggestions. Current homeowners also may wish to have their house
inspected periodically to determine if there are problems brewing
that might not be so easily noticed.
Q:
What gets inspected?
A: Typically
each house is given a thorough examination that includes the following
areas: structural issues (framing and foundation), insulation
and ventilation (including attics and crawl spaces), bedrooms,
closets, laundry room, water heater, kitchen and appliances, bathrooms,
sinks and drainage, fireplaces, garages, the roof, chimneys, the
electrical system, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, siding,
windows, floors, walls, joists, driveways, sidewalks, porches,
decks, patios, landscaping, drainage on the grounds, gutters,
and downspouts.
Q:
How can I keep track of all that information?
A: Bruce
will provide you with a detailed report which he will go over
with you to ensure that you understand everything he has discovered
during the inspection.
Q:
What if I have questions later about the findings in the report?
A: Bruce
is only an email or phone call away. He will maintain a written
record of your Inspection Report so that if you ever have questions
about his findings, he can explain the data to you.
